Want to get involved but not sure how yet?

We are a team of around 30 volunteers who have been building the Biomakespace from September 2016. We hope to open more broadly to members in early 2017, after which it will be an ongoing project to grow and enable the community that wants to work in the space.

The links below will take you to our planning documents for various aspects of the space - feel free to peruse, join us at a meeting, get in touch and drop by our chat app if you think you can help with any of these areas!

  • Sign up to our discussion forum to ask questions and suggest ideas
  • Join our chat channel for volunteers - this is the place for quick questions/chatter
  • Check out our to-do list on Trello and sign up for a task (or two)

Volunteering Opportunities

See the Volunteering pages for more information

Safety Officers - if you have experience in biosafety, chemical safety or other health and safety, we'd love to hear from you. These roles entail reviewing project proposals for the space, monitoring and updating safety policies and procedures and helping make sure everyone using Biomakespace is safe and happy!

Trainers - If you know any molecular biology, engineering or other skills that you'd like to share, we are looking for trainers to run introductory and advanced courses in the space. Great experience with teaching a diverse group of people in an informal setting.

Communications and fundraising - If you have a penchant for social media, writing grants or organising events, get involved with the fundraising and communications team.

Lab Design - if you like lab technology and equipment, help us source and commission new kit, design the space for optimum use and generally join in building a unique lab in a unique venue.

If you are interested in any of the above, drop along to one of our events or contact us on info@biomake.space
